Getting to the wedding:
If you're traveling from North America, you have two main options to reach the Bordeaux region.
Option 1 — Fly to Paris, then take a train to Bordeaux
We do not recommend driving in, or from, Paris.
You can land at either Paris Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) or Paris Orly (ORY) and then take a high-speed train (TGV) to Bordeaux.
Train Paris → Bordeaux
Duration: ~2 hours
Departure station: Gare Montparnasse (central Paris)
Arrival station: Gare de Bordeaux–Saint-Jean
Official booking website (English version available):
Some Paris → Bordeaux trains continue to Libourne which is even closer to the wedding (Libourne → The church in Montagne is ~10 kms / ~6 miles and Bordeaux → The church in Montagne is ~50 kms / ~30 miles)
We strongly recommend at least 4 hours between your flight landing in Paris and your train departure in Paris if you plan to take the train on the same day as your arrival flight.
How to get from the airports to central Paris:
From Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG)
You have several options:
Taxi
Fixed price: €62 to Paris Left Bank, €55 to Paris Right Bank
Very easy: follow “Taxi” signs at arrivals.
RER B Train → Paris
Travel time: ~35–45 minutes
Stops at major stations: Gare du Nord, Châtelet–Les Halles, Denfert-Rochereau

RoissyBus

Uber / Bolt
Typically €50–€70, depending on traffic.
From any of these stops, you can take the metro or taxi to Gare Montparnasse.
From Orly Airport (ORY)
Taxi
Fixed price: €35 (Right Bank) / €41 (Left Bank)
OrlyBus
To Denfert-Rochereau (central Paris)

OrlyVal + RER B Train

Travelling within the Region
The Bordeaux region is magnificent and full of vineyards, small medieval towns, and Atlantic coast landscapes. We recommend spending a couple of days exploring the area around the wedding. See our “What to do (Bordeaux)” page.
